Hello Hair Hydrating Hair Mask

Oh hello hair! It’s time to review the extremely popular Hello Hair Hydrating Hair Mask.

I bought the Hello Hair Hydrating Hair Mask a few months ago after spending a good half hour stalking their Instagram. My hair is long, slightly wavy and prone to tangles and frizz. The individual strands are fine but there’s a lot of it. I basically never wear my hair au naturel – I always straighten it or improve the waves and curls with my GHD. I haven’t dyed it in years so at least the GHD is the only regular damaging thing happening to it!

The Hello Hair Mask arrived really fast, within a day or two of ordering it. At $15 it’s pretty cheap, at least I think so!  This hair mask is an all-natural treatment and contains coconut oil, almond oil, argan oil, olive oil, olive leaf extract and castor oil. This combination basically hydrates and nourishes the hair.

The Consistency: It’s an oil treatment, so depending on the temperature in your bathroom it could be a bit solid or it could be like liquid oil. Either is fine – if it’s too runny you could put it in the fridge for a little bit, or if it’s too thick stand it in a warm room and should thin out a bit (or warm it up in your hands).

How To Apply: This hair treatment is applied on dry hair. I wrap a towel around my shoulders to protect my clothes, and then squeeze some of the oil into my hands. The first time I used it the consistency was quite thick and kind of lumpy, but it melted as I rubbed my hands together. Then I used my fingers to work it through the lengths of my hair. You don’t need to use too much as it spreads pretty easily.

Waiting Time: You should leave it in for at least thirty minutes, but I generally leave it on for an hour. You can pull all your hair up into a bun or shove it under a shower cap during this time. Then I wash and condition my hair and leave it to air dry. Make sure to really wash your hair well (shampoo twice if necessary) to get the oil out. I find very hot water helps as it breaks down the oil.

The Verdict: I legitimately love this hair mask. I want to marry it. After using it my hair is ridiculously soft and silky, and the frizz is gone. I still like to use the GHD to style my hair (as in the pictures above), but it’s just a matter of touching it up slightly rather than needing to do my whole head! I find that this feeling lasts a few days, even through my next wash. However to maintain it you definitely do need to do the mask regularly. I’ve used my mask three times and will probably get at least another one or two uses out of my packet.

First of all I would like to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to
ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts
before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my mind in getting
my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Cheers!
